Whale of a Time

Whales have always captivated me — colossal but somehow graceful, curious, and often playful. With Whale of a Time, I wanted to capture all of that at once: sheer scale alongside the lightness as it travels through the water.

The whale is the undisputed star. I kept the palette deliberately cool, and the sea is carved out in rhythmic shapes, flowing around, over and under using a range of blue hues.

The question that remains unanswered: is the whale breaching into the light, or simply drifting just beneath the surface? It's up to you to decide.
