Turf War
Turf War
Turf War started off as a simple study of beech trees in a winter setting, and as the trees started to get defined, I really like the muted nature of the color palette.
We were expecting an Aurora show that evening, didn't see them in Seattle of course since it was cloudy, but it inspired me to add a cool lime green glow in the background.
The painting sat on my desk for a while and I wasn't sure if it was finished when one day quite the fight broke out in our yard between two crows, and I decided to add them into the scene. I really love the way it ended up, I feel like the one in the tree is winning the arguement.
