Top of the Met
Top of the Met
I was in New York visiting the Metropolitan Museum, and we went out to the rooftop bar. It was a steaming hot, humid, sticky New York Summer day. The Manhattan skyline was shimmering in the distant heat, like a hazy, smoky dreamscape. In sharp contrast, in the foreground, was the splendid rolling greens of Central Park, billowing with life and color.
Top of the Met is my memory of that view, using pale but detailed choreography to represent the skyline architecture, and rich green and gold washes with sharp, darker shadows for the park foliage.
