Mars Rover

Mars Rover is one of my more experimental pieces.  This was painted on heavier watercolor paper, which takes the paint very differently and has a rugged quality.  I love the way the upper area, almost a sky from another world, was etched out in greys and blues.

The orange and yellow scorched foreground very much took me to images from the Mars rover module, hence the title.  The atmosphere feels alien and absolutely not of this earth.
