Looking Up, Looking Down

This work was my first experimentation into abstract iterative watercolor and ink work. I loved the way the blues and pinks floated above and settled into folds and nooks and crevices, with ink added to give definition and depth. What emerged as I worked from watercolor to ink and back felt like the full spectrum of our universe, from the miniature world we might see under a microscope, travelling to the layers looking up from deep in the sea, right up to the patterns and shapes we see in the vastness of the cosmic space.
