Hadrian's Sycamore

There is a very beautiful area in the UK called Northumberland, where many areas of Hadrian's wall are still present, rolling through the hills into the distance.  This piece is meant to capture the dramatic mood and sense of the hills and landscape around Crag Lough, where until recently a 120-year-old lone sycamore tree still stood in a gap in the hills.  It was sadly felled in 2023 by vandals, but the imagery remains fixed in my mind and those of many others who have loved this striking emblem of the North, either in person or as depicted in art and cinema.
