This is a close in study of beautiful flowering dogwood blooms. Here I was purposely working on a smaller, more intimate and more detailed scale, taking time to glaze and layer to give the petals depth and structure. I like the balance of the composition with the two main stalks giving a cool 'x' shape in the lower half of the painting.
